March 2007 Holiday Lake Subdivision Watercraft Rules
 
Rules effective April 2007
 
1. ALL STICKERS MUST BE VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES ON RECREATIONAL VEHICALS, AND PERMANENTLY STUCK TO BOTH SIDES.
2. Only registered watercraft is allowed on the lakes. Registered watercraft are required to display their unit number and their lot number on the left (port side), and current Holiday Lake stickers on both sides of the watercraft.
3. Jet Ski hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sundays and holidays. Jet Skis are allowed after 8:00 PM with no wake and before dark.
4. Watercraft must follow a course with the shoreline always to the driver’s right (Counterclockwise)
5. All skiers, jet skiers and jet ski passengers must wear life jackets. (All watercraft must have a lifejacket for each individual in or on the watercraft)
6. Dropping a ski in not permitted unless arrangements are made for the ski to be immediately picked up.
7. Boats pulling skiers are permitted a 50-foot buffer zone directly behind the buoys for getting skiers up or dropping skiers down. No skiing to and from docks.
8. A responsible person, at least 13 years old, in addition to the operator of the boat, must be a spotter for the person skiing, tubing or knee boarding.
9. When a person has fallen off the watercraft that is being towed or rode on they must hold one ski up or one arm up so that other watercraft can see them, and the spotter must hold up an ORANGE FLAG AND WAVE IT. (Flag needs to be at least 8 ½ X 11 and visible from a least 200 feet)
10. No wake is allowed between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM (This includes people fishing)
11. Boats will maintain a distance of 100 feet from the beach. Speed limit is 5 miles per hour when approaching ALL THE boat ramps and beach and when within a distance of 100 feet.
12. Sailboats or any non-powered watercraft have the right-of-way at all times.
13. Only electric trolling motors are allowed on Andy’s and Bozo’s Fish Lakes.
14. All motorized boats shall at all times be equipped with an underwater exhaust system in good working order and in constant operation.
15. No Guest watercraft of any kind is allowed and ONLY ONE WATERCRAFT PER LOT is allowed on the lake at anytime.
16. The regulations in the code of Iowa and the Administrative Code shall govern the use of lake within the Holiday Lake Subdivision. A synopsis of Iowa Boating Regulations that has a summary of the various regulations concerning safe boating is available at county courthouses.
17. RED FLAG: on the dam means NO WAKE: this is due to high water.
 
Placement of 2007 stickers is high on the front bow on both sides of the boat. Place stickers on the upper cowling on both sides of personal watercraft (jet skis). (Please peel off any visible old stickers.) Please place vehicle stickers on lower driver’s side windshield.
