  • Mail Taken from Mail Boxes - 8/5/2011
    This week it was reported by the Brooklyn Post Office that letters that had been mailed/delivered were taken from multiple mail boxes within the Holiday Lake Subdivision and thrown in ditches in various areas of the lake.

    If you observe any suspicious or mischievous behavior or have information regarding the Federal theft of mail within the Holiday Lake Subdivision, please contact the Brooklyn Post Office 641-522-9277 and ask to speak with the postmaster.

  • Replacement of Powell Park Benches - 2/15/2011
    Three stationary benches have been ordered to replace the two swinging benches in Powell Park and one to be placed by the flag pole on the dam, at a cost of $289.00 per bench. Monetary donations would be greatly appreciated to help off set the expense
  • Invoices and Rules and Regulations have been Mailed - 2/23/2011
    The 2011 invoices and Rules and Regulations have been mailed, you should receive the white 9 x 12 envelope by March 1, 2011, fees are due April 1, 2011.
  • Compost Pile in Place of the Old Brush Pile - 3/14/2011
    A compost pile will be provided for association members in place of the old brush pile. Composting will begin on Saturday, April 30, 2011, and continue until Saturday, October 29, 2011, every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Materials accepted for the compost pile will be branches (no larger than 3” x 4’) and any biodegradable materials (yard waste). This site will be monitored while open. When not open, the gate will be locked. Any violations will be subject to a $500 corporate assessment. Volunteers are needed to monitor the compost pile; Anyone interested in helping, please contact the Holiday Lake Office during normal business hours.
  • Chip and Seal of Roads - 4/14/2011
    The Holiday Lake Board of Directors voted to chip and seal the following roadways at a cost of $156,334.20. All of Lakeshore Drive around the Main Lake, Buena Vista Drive, Tracy Drive, Echo Drive, Sunrise Drive, Skyline Drive, Shady Lane, Martin Drive, Windy Court, East Ridge Drive, Holiday Lane, Iowa Boulevard, Capitol Drive, part of Caron Drive, part of Franklin Drive.

    Larry Ehrig also noted that the $120.00 Supplemental fee is used to seal coat the roads and that it will be up for vote at the August 13th annual meeting, the board will be asking for an increase of $30.00 per lot owner to help cover more of the roads.

  • Removal of Campers - 10/2/2011
    Reminder: Campers must be removed from the Holiday Lake Subdivision on Monday, October 31, 2011.
  • Muskrats - 10/14/2011
    The Holiday Lake Board of Directors has contacted a person to trap Muskrats within the Holiday Lake Subdivision. Please notify the Holiday Lake Office 641-522-7686, if you have noticed any muskrats or burrows along your shoreline and allow the trapper to set traps in that area.

    A female muskrat may have up to five litters per year, with up to ten born in each litter. Muskrats will burrow holes into shoreline's and can cause a lot of damage.

  • Modern Woodmen of America Donation of Trees - 11/10/2011
    Modern Woodmen of America by Gene Edelen, donated the following 16 trees to the Holiday Lake Subdivision. Ten trees were planted by the Community Center and the remaining six were planted in Powell Park.
