Per Tom Sheets, Poweshiek County Sheriff on February 12, 2010 - no more break-ins have been reported at Holiday Lake and no arrests have been made. 2010 Valentines Game Night - Feb 13, 2010 Gene and cindy prusha are happy to report that the valentines game night on feb 13th 2010 was an evening of good food, prizes, an auction and game playing. The kids and adults enjoyed the cake walk too. Included in $8 admission,you were eligible to win many prizes! 10 different prizes and a cake made by lynette madison were won! the grand prize was a paid lot fee for 2010. A $200 value-and the lucky winner was casey madison- adult son of kevin + lynette- way to go madisons! Along with the fun came many generous attendees-87 paid, kids were free. Great turnout! we @ holiday lake are so lucky to have our community center! what a joy it is now with the new acoustics-thanks to all who made that happen! you really should consider a donation to the community center and keep it in mind as a rental for your next event as it is a great place for a large gathering .thanks again for the use of our great building. The sound of our auctioneer tom harris from marshalltown must have been good and clear with the new acoustics as the bidders were very involved and generous! tom sure made the auction fun and kept the crowd laughing1 we thank tom for his time and generosity! The auction was a big success! Total intake for evening was $2761.00!! Total costs were $735.00 for a profit of $2026!!! Wow- thank you all for your generosity! Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. Cellular Rural Improvement Zone - Feb 11, 2010 The Holiday Lake Board of Directors received notice on February 11, 2010 that the Court of Appeals of Iowa found in favor of Holiday Lake to establish a Rural Improvement Zone within the Holiday Lake Subdivision, to help control erosion and water quality. Total amount collected will go into the fish fund. A $50.00 corporate assessment will be issued to any lot owner who goes ice fishing without a current ice fishing sticker. Lot owners are responsible for removing snow from around the mail boxes. Please remove all vehicles from the roadway for snow removal. Two Suspects Arrested - March 3, 2010 On Tuesday, March 2, 2010 it was reported to the Holiday Lake Office by the Poweshiek County Sheriff Office, that two subjects have been arrested in connection with the break-ins at Holiday Lake and Lake Ponderosa. Updates will be posted as received. 2010 Liability Change for Registration One important change for 2010 includes the requirement of liability insurance as to motorized Watercraft and Land Craft registered at the Lake. We have decided to require this in order to further protect the Corporation, its board members and employees, and you as Lot Owners. You should look at your liability insurance and make certain it covers motorized Watercraft and Land Craft for you, your family and guests so you're ready to complete registration.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST- 5)TOM AND TERESA DVORSKY(THE KOLACHE KING AND QUEEN)WHO HAD A SPECIAL GUEST- OUR OWN "WOODY" WAS THERE! Please DO NOT Place cans, bottles, trash, recycling or anything else next to or over the fence at anytime. Bring your recyclables to the office during office hours. Security Measures Poweshiek County Sheriff's office recommends the following security measures to help protect lot owners cabins/homes. Clean parking areas and clear snow from walkways. Have security lights with timers in different rooms set to go on and off at different times of the night. Have someone check cabin/home when gone for anything that looks out of place. Contact Poweshiek County Sheriff Office 641-623-5679 to report breakin asap. Do not go into residence or touch anything.
